I can’t say enough great things about working with Shaolin Low. I hired her when I was in escrow on my condo in Waikiki. I reached out in November, closed in early December, and by mid-January everything was fully installed and move-in ready. Two months from hiring to completion — and only about six weeks from closing to full installation. That timeline alone still amazes me.
Shaolin and her team handled absolutely everything: interior design, purchasing all furniture and materials, coordinating and managing contractors for the TV wall, roller blinds, and ceiling fans, receiving and storing items, and final installation and setup. It was completely turnkey. I provided the budget, and she went to work.
Early on, she asked me what vibe I wanted. I told her I wanted a vacation resort feel — and that’s exactly what I got. The space feels comfortable, elevated, and relaxing. Everyone who has seen it absolutely loves it.
If you’re considering hiring Shaolin, the most important thing to understand is that you have to trust her. She takes the reins on design decisions and purchasing. There were a few individual items I personally might not have selected myself, but when I step back and look at the finished result as a whole, I’m extremely happy. She delivers a cohesive vision and makes the process effortless for the client.
I truly can’t imagine trying to coordinate all of this on my own — especially from closing through installation. She made what could have been overwhelming feel smooth and organized.
